GRAANSONIC // CLASSICAL // 21.00-22.00: "Sounds of Europe" w/ Nerea Gimeno (violin) & Csenge Nagy (piano) // Nerea Gimeno (violin) and Csenge Nagy (piano) present this program based on classical music pieces that took their inspiration from popular melodies. As two people living in a country which is not their home one, they wonder about their own identity, similarities and differences, making a reflection about cultural heritage. In this concert you will hear pieces from Bartok, Falla, Prokofiev, Igudesman, and more!

Armed with their own compositions and well-known songs, they paint new colours with cellos, voice and electronics.

GRAANSONIC // FOLK/ACOUSTIC // 23.00-0.00: Joost Dijkema (one man band) Although originally a drummer, Joost Dijkema picked up the guitar when a teenager and it quickly became his main focus. He was determined to develop the fingerstyle guitar technique. From then on the guitar was his guide through some messy years. The introspective aftermath resulted in his first solo guitar record ‘Sacred Revelations’ (LP/CD/Digital) in 2016 on the local record label Twin Dimension Records. The record received some rave reviews locally, nationally and internationally. The colourful follow-up 'Time Thief' (2019) expands the horizon of Dijkema’s music with meandering and intense guitar explorations on acoustic (6- and 12- string) and electric guitar, mutated bluegrass and lazy yet lingering folk-rock. Again, Dijkema’s mesmerizing guitar playing – lively, transcendental and sometimes slightly rushed - and melodies are staggering. In the beginning of 2023 his third solo album 'After Thunder Sun' will be released including 10 creative various songs. Besides his solo records Dijkema collaborated with dialect singer-songwriter Bert Hadders on the full length ‘Kokeleko’ (2019). Dijkema and Hadders also provided the atmospheric and haunting soundtrack for ‘De Poolse Bruid’, a play by TgECHO and Noord Nederlands Toneel (NNT) based on a movie with the same name. The play was staged in a monumental farm in Onderdendam from 2019 to 2022. Since 2011 his other musical output is Reverse Cowgirls (with Michiel Hoving). A two one man band playing country rock/bluegrass/swamprock with footdrums, guitars and banjo.

GRAANSONIC // JAZZ // 21.00-22.00: "Jinju Kim Trio + Dennis Junio" w/ Jinju Kim (voc), Dennis Junio (Tenor Sax), Kwangeun Kim (guitar), Astis Kondratas (Bass) Jinju Kim, a jazz vocal and her band meet Dennis Junio, a tenor saxophone player to bring you swinging music from the Golden age of jazz! The band presents some tunes from “Billie Holiday & Lester Young”, dedicated with great respect and love.

GRAANSONIC // FUNK // 23.00-0.00: "AGPJ Quartet" w/ Alexandru Coti (keys), Giulio Jesi (alt sax), Petr Turecek (drums), Jokubas Talocka (bass) Studying at Prince Claus Conservatory offers you the opportunity to meet up musicians from different countries of the world. Therefore, during 2022, Coti Alexandru (Romania), Giulio Jessi(Italy), Petr Turecek (Czech Republic) and Jokubas Talocka (Lituania) had the chance to perform together in local jam sessions from Groningen where they found a common taste in music, which is Jazz Fusion, but not only. Also, the group started to compose and to arrange in this style of music quite recently and add to the repertoire which is very groovy being inspired from musicians like Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, etc.

An energetic rock sound with a punk streak that's not afraid to cool down for some heartfelt songs. With a playful stage presence this band seeks to interact with and entertain you.

GRAANSONIC // ROCK // 23.00-0:00: "Novko" w/ Taska Smit (bass, lead voc), Bas Kuus (drums, synth, voc), Eljosha Boll (guitar, voc) The songs of Novko do not paint a typical picture of love or tragedy. Instead, they tell stories of the in-between: a place where things do not make sense yet. While the dreamy guitar riffs draw inspiration from a post-Smiths indie sound, the heavy drums and powerful vocals explore a more alternative rock aesthetic inspired by artists such as The Cure and Silversun Pickups. Combining these elements, Novko provides the audience with a captivating live performance, which has already proven to be successful at venues such as VERA and Neushoorn. In 2022 the band released their first single ‘Just for You’ which premiered on national radio via KINK.
